Be brave - Fly

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my blogpost today. The year is almost over and I am happy to share one more post for 2017. I have made a tag:

This is what I did to the chipboard:

I love these chipboards because they are really sturdy and you can abuse them all you want !

I decided to go easy today and heat emboss it with 4 colours of embossing powders.

Here's what that looks like.

A little sparkle too !

The base of this tag is some pattern paper on which I glued some text paper and then inked the edges all around. I also did a little bit of rubber stamping, only around the edges.

The child is a paper doll by Tim Holtz and I gave him a tiny little bit of colour. I also gave him butterfly wings. These are also from a set by Tim Holtz. Lastly I added some of the glittery Yellow embossing powder along some of the edges and then called the tag done !

I hope you got some inspiration from my post !

You'll find the 'Fly' chipboard HERE

Thank you for stopping by today and Happy new Year !

Unknown Dimension of Chipboard

Hello friends of UmWowStudio!

I hope you have happy holidays and you need a new portion of inspiration!

I want to show you my new technic to use chipboard as... letterpress. Make the surface of chipboard waterproof, for example with medium gel. Now you can using it with any inks you like, but not with acrylic! Now you need a Big Shot or something like this. With watercolor paper you have the best result. Try it as with embossing folder, take the soft mate too.

And here is my creation..

Here is the backside...

Snowy Reindeer Clock

Hello Um Wow fans :)
Miranda here with some winters inspiration using some amazing
Chippies!!!! I love the deer chippie and the clock piece was the perfect
Size for this clock I had in my stash. It's a shaker with lots of glass glitter in it
For wintery glitz and snowy beauty.

For the deer I did an image transfer with some script pattern paper
And highlighted it with metallic gold foil. The vintage clock was simply painted with the
Same liquid gold foil . Very easy to do and gives such a cool effect. I covered the clock
Itself with book paper and kept it very minimal.

I hope you like my project and are inspired to create one yourself  ! Hugs :)

Playing with Canvas

Hi UmWowStudio Fans....

Christmas is right around the corner...
can you believe it!??!

....and I am sharing a non~holiday creation!
Yes, you heard me correctly.

I created a pocket hanger to hold a few of my cotton picks
that I recently acquired.

I used a painted UmWowStudio chippie
which I sewed onto my canvas pocket,
to add to the texture and color of my
pocket hanger.

I also added few glass buttons
and a piece of black ticking to
hang the my pocket with.

I hope you enjoyed my
non~holiday creation.

Wishing each and everyone of you a
Very MERRY Christmas
and a HAPPY New Year!

everything has beauty

Hello!
Today I would like to show you my newest mixed media project. This time, I created a mixed media tag that I used lots of mediums. It’s always a lot of fun to throw things at your project and then it all comes together with color.

I would like to use this opportunity to wish you all  the peace and joy of the season!
Merry Christmas!

Merry - bright

Hello everyone,

Today I have a trio of rusty ATC's for you. I made them a little shabby too as I thought it went well with the rusty backgrounds...

And here's how I made these...

I used embossing powders on the chipboards. I used brass on the Elk's head and the stars, Red & Sparkly on the little circle that wasn't really a chipboard but a loose piece from inside a chipboard that fell out and I used for his nose.

Here is how that looks.

Next I added some shading with my Big Brush Pens...

Looks a bit more interesting like this I think.

The paper was made with acrylic paint in 'iron' and it was made rusty with a patina spray.. I added some embossing and made sure it looked a little shabby... I also added some sari ribbon and some embroidery twine.

On this card I also added the sari ribbon and embroidery twine and like on the other two a little doodling with a gold pen around the edges.

This one got the same treatment too !

Here is another look at all three...

I have used the following Chipboards:

Candy Box

Hello friends of UmWowStudio!

I'm here today to show you my inspiration with chipboard Pine Tree. Pine tree is THE Christmas decoration! I have covered it with sparcle pen in green and added some sequins in rose gold. From kraft cardstock I have folded a box and embellish it with thin washi tape in rose gold too. Some splatter in white, tag with greeting and hole with acetate ;) Quick and dirty :D Check it out!
